SMUK – aimed at newbies

Over my time in SMUK and I do enjoy the concept (in my 12th season), but it did take me many seasons to realise the ambitions of managing, this is not just about racing, there is so much more, I don’t think I have mastered training yet, but am I getting better, my riders seem to responding more, over train and they fatigue quicker, so getting the set ups right is important.

We have plenty of new managers coming on board, but many only last a season (we want loyalty, to make SMUK as vibrant as the Polish version), like me in the early days not knowing or understanding, so to make life easier we have set up a help line through managers emails, chat and the offering of a help sheet, as well as gamesmasters supporting, to get you started (find on DM’s when you are allocated a league place. Often as a newbie you may be placed in a league without a full compliment but over time this usually will fill up, so early on you may not get a regular league meeting, but take this as good learning period, Take as many sparring meetings (challenges) as you can by clicking on a League and a team and under the manager there is a box to click  to raise a meeting, this is a period when you cqan assess riders abilities to form your 1-8, this is only a small part as 6 days a week you get conditioning and on track training and visibly watch your riders abilities grow if you set them right (go to training and set them to levels to get the best out of training / coaching.

Early on it is about getting help / support from others and getting to understand what you are getting out of it SMUK, it is a thinking mans sim.

The sim currency are SC’s and you will need to buy them from the SHOP, use them for PREMIER and SUPPORTER memberships, keeping riders healthy, improve the bike stock and keep them in tip top condition. You can spend as little or as much as you wish, but to buy into the sim to improve your enjoyment.

Newbies – We ric427@msn.com  (Ipswich Harriers) and fetaylor66@gmail.com (Thames Trout) are here to help, there is a newbie helpsheet that is sent out by DM to get you started there are many othe more experienced managers who will offer help if you ask in chat.

We already have contact with many managers who are getting to grips with SMUK.
